4 hr virtual session while you are at home and in your hat making space.

These workshops will be limited to 15 people to ensure we can maintain a level interaction. If we have a large demand - additional sessions will be scheduled. This also maybe run in other time zones.
Anyone can join this virtually using Zoom, with plans to run these in each of B Unique Millinery's major Regions - Asia/Pacific (this one), North America and EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa).
Chance to test Zoom working correctly prior will also be available.
Attendees to this class will also have access to our 48hr separate breakout room.
Jenny Roberts is one of Northern UK’s leading milliners. Recognised for her couture brand, she has been creating beautifully crafted pieces for her clients for over 15 years. Over the last 7 years, along with her co-tutor Marie Halewood, they have gained an international reputation for the Millinery School, teaching to the highest standard for hobby and professional milliners.
Offering a variety of classes from their Harrogate based School Jenny and Marie are thrilled to be teaming up with B Unique to share their skills via online workshops.
About the Workshop
Students will learn how to put together a frame and foundation in abaca. Several folding, gathering and edging techniques will be used to create the final result.
This technique forms a light, wearable piece with lots of versatility. Students are encouraged to use their imagination to create something really special out of this fabulous material.

This course is aimed at:
- Those wanting to make a light versatile turban headband in this exciting fabric.
The course will involve:
- Learning how to edge silk abaca
- Learning how to put together a frame and foundation in abaca
- Learning how to fold, gathering and wave the abaca
- Learning how to edge the abaca
- Creating a headband using the draping qualities of silk abaca
- Students are encouraged to use their imagination to create something really special out of this fabulous material.
You will need:
- .5 m silk Abaca in any colour or pattern
- 2 metal hair bands which ideally are covered in a fabric tube
- Water spray
- Thread (strong thread for gathering)
- Measuring tape
- Sewing Machine
No prep work
You will leave with:
A wearable piece with lots of versatility and ability to experiment further with the techniques learnt to create lots of different designs
