About the Workshop

This is a fabulous workshop designed for the beginner to advanced milliner and focusses on creating stunning hats and headpieces that are very versatile and great to add your own creative flair to.

Make one of these stunning little hats or headpieces using your own blocks and Shantung Straw (high tensile paper fabric/cloth).

You will learn all about Shantung Straw (paper fabric/cloth) how to manipulate to produce highly creative, quality and robust (waterproof) headpieces and hats using this inexpensive and versatile material.

You will also lean how to block crowns, brims and create gravity defying trim.

You will block a few hats so bring more blocks so that you can block more during the workshop to finish later.

Carole has invented and developed most of the techniques in this workshop in order to work with new materials.   She loves to share her techniques and skill sets and gives this knowledge generously to use in creating millinery.
