A Milliners’ life can be very lonely as it is an art and craft that is very personal and something we do on our own.
Why not have a week-end away on the Hinterland of Queensland’s Sunshine Coast at the Studio / Showroom of B Unique Millinery to rejuvenate and get motivated in your chosen role as a milliner which can be rewarding and fulfilling in many ways.
Stay on the property in your own room, all meals included and enjoy 2 full days of hatting. Learn about all different millinery fabrics, from sinamay, pinokpok, buckram, paper and try blocking many of them. Block as many hats and bases as you like to take back home – block collection of around 100 with many new ones being added all the time, some vintage and others from different block-makers around the world. Gain new tips and techniques that you can use immediately. Browse through the multitude of supplies and get inspiration to take your business to that next level.

COST: $490 plus GST for full week-end which includes Accommodation, All meals, foundation supplies for blocking, wire, glues, stiffener, all sewing supplies. Additional Millinery supplies and embellishments can be purchased separately.
You will arrive Friday afternoon and settle in to your room early evening before dinner. After breakfast on the Saturday morning we will commence learning about the different textiles and blocking many of them. We finish Saturday in the hat studio when the sun is setting and head home with your homework of sewing over a glass of wine while dinner is being prepared. Then we start off again on Sunday morning after breakfast. Finishing around 3-4pm for your journey home.

What a superb weekend I had at the B Unique Millinery Retreat. Such a creative experience in a beautiful setting and lots and lots of millinery resources on tap from Brenda's well stocked Shop and work space. The food was delicious and felt hugely pampered by quality accommodation. I would recommend this Retreat to all Millinery levels from beginner to advanced, always something new to learn. Thank you for sharing the love of millinery and creativity.
Weekend retreat surpassed all my expectations
The weekend retreat was fantastic ! As a beginner, I learnt so much , and Brenda was a great teacher. She was very accomodating, patient and helpful. It was great value for money, as it included accommodation, all meals (cooked by Brenda), use of warehouse supplies, and very personalised tuition. I made a few hats (that l love!) , and I highly recommend it .
