This course is aimed at:
This is a fabulous workshop designed for the beginner to advanced milliner and focuses on creating stunning hats and headpieces that are very versatile and great to add your own creative flair to.
The course will involve:
Make one of these stunning little hats or headpieces using your own blocks, the fabulous Fosshape and (the best kept secret in the feather world) Goose Nagoire feathers .
You will learn how to use Fosshape and quickly, cleanly and inexpensively block crowns as well as other thermoplastics to create headpieces then you will learn all about goose nagoire feathers, choosing, dying, stripping and cutting/curling and then assembly. A demonstration of other thermoplastics will also show how you can vary headpieces at a later stage.
Using these techniques you can create a multitude of hats and headpieces that are fantastic, high quality, very robust and importantly, sell well.
Carole launched this workshop in Wagga Wagga in 2009 and updates the class each year. She invented and developed most of the techniques in this workshop. She loves to share her techniques and skill sets and gives this knowledge generously to use in creating millinery.
You will leave with
- One hat in this workshop but bring more blocks so that you can block more during the workshop to finish later.
All these techniques are bought together in this 4 hour workshop which is promised to be fun, interactive and enable students to confidently work.
