Exciting New Millinery Materials
Carole Maher will introduce and demonstrate the new and exciting millinery materials on the market, such as Paper hoods and flat cloth, new Crin cloth, silk backed poly, Cork fabric, Poly woven fabric and a new non-toxic stiffener, Mylar plastic etc. These materials are very interesting and a challenge to use unless you know the skill sets for each. We will explore their benefits and play with these materials to create a hat or headpiece.
You will be ready to use these new materials for the next spring season.
Carole will demonstrate all the materials and then one material is used to create a tip and sideband hat, you will finish this hat in the workshop.
This class is suitable for all skill levels but blocking experience and basic sewing skills are necessary.
